Ondo Police arrest 10 suspected kidnappers, recover ransom and operational motorcycle in intelligence-led operation in Akure
The Ondo State Police Command arrested ten suspected kidnappers in Akure on Monday during an intelligence-led operation, the command confirmed on Tuesday.
DSP Abayomi Jimoh, Public Relations Officer for the command, disclosed the arrests in a statement issued in the state capital.

The suspects, identified as Muritala Muhammed, Mustapha Adamu, Usman Ibrahim, Amisu Aruna, Asiru Abdulasis, Abduliu Sanni, Ibrahim Suraju, Noah Isiaku, Abdulahi Suraju, and Arabi Hamet, were apprehended along Ondo Road following coordinated efforts between the Anti-Kidnapping Section and visiting Police Mobile Force operatives.
DSP Jimoh stated that the operation recovered a motorcycle and ransom money from the suspects. Part of the recovered cash included burnt currency notes, which are currently being documented as evidence in ongoing investigations.
The police spokesman further noted that the suspects had confessed to their roles within the syndicate, providing detailed accounts of the gang’s operations.
He added that the command is working diligently to identify and apprehend any remaining accomplices.
Mr Adebowale Lawal, Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, reassured residents that the command remains committed to eliminating kidnapping and violent crimes across the state.

Earlier, the police arrested two other individuals in Akure North Local Government Area in connection with separate kidnappings, recovering motorcycles and other tools allegedly used in criminal activities.
