The Silent Blue Light premiere, organised by BRIISSH Entertainment Studios, will take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, on Saturday, August 1, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
In a statement announcing the event, Abiola, who serves as the film’s executive producer, described the premiere as more than a movie screening, saying it is designed to encourage meaningful conversations around child protection and early intervention.
“I am honoured to invite you to an exclusive watch party for Silent Blue Light, a powerful film exploring emotional neglect, online grooming, and the hidden struggles many young people face,” Abiola said.
She explained that the private screening has been curated for selected stakeholders from the education sector, social care organisations, government ministries and policymaking institutions.
“This private screening is curated for a select group of stakeholders across education, social care, government ministries and policy makers, creating a space for thoughtful engagement on safeguarding the children and early intervention,” she said.
Abiola added that the film seeks to encourage positive change within families and communities while creating opportunities to expand its impact across Nigeria and beyond.
“The story is aimed at reshaping values within our homes, with an opportunity to support its reach into communities across Nigeria and beyond,” she added.
According to the producer, the screening will be followed by a facilitated discussion where participants will examine the film’s central themes and explore practical responses to the social issues highlighted in the story.
Directed by Best Okoduwa, the film features an accomplished cast that includes Yemi Solade, Tosin Abiola, Bimbo Thomas, Bimbo Akisanya, Angel Unigwe, Annabel Apara, Emmanuel Nse, Osereme Inegbenebor and Tobi Makinde.
The production reflects a growing trend within Nollywood of using cinema to address pressing social issues.
