Asake, who relocated to Lagos after graduating from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, said the city played a key role in shaping his mindset and artistic direction. He described Lagos as a place that taught him discipline and responsibility.

The singer explained that many of his songs were inspired by everyday experiences in Lagos.

He noted that the city’s fast-paced lifestyle and energy significantly influenced his sound and creativity.

Asake said the environment pushed him to mature quickly and adapt to the demands of life and the music industry. He added that Lagos helped him transition into adulthood.

The award-winning artiste also acknowledged that many talented musicians remain undiscovered.

He expressed gratitude for his own journey, saying his success was a result of both talent and divine favour.

According to him, he is thankful to God for the opportunity to use his talent on a global stage.

He emphasised that recognition in the music industry often goes beyond skill alone.

Asake has continued to enjoy international recognition in recent years, with his music gaining wide acceptance across Africa and beyond.
