NDPHC completes insurance risk survey at Omotosho and Sapele plants to enhance asset integrity, safety standards and power generation reliability

The company disclosed that the exercise marks another step in its commitment to operational excellence, asset integrity, and comprehensive risk mitigation across its generation portfolio.

According to NDPHC, the survey was conducted in collaboration with international insurance partners to ensure that critical power infrastructure aligns with global safety and risk management standards.

The assessment evaluated equipment condition, operational safety procedures, maintenance protocols, and environmental risk exposure.

Speaking during a feedback session after the exercise, Executive Director, Finance and Accounts, Omololu Agoro, commended the survey team and plant personnel for their professionalism and cooperation.

He noted that periodic risk engineering evaluations remain vital to safeguarding investments and ensuring sustainable electricity generation.

The Omotosho and Sapele assessments form part of a broader nationwide programme under the National Integrated Power Project, covering NDPHC’s generation assets.

The company stated that insights from the survey would enhance plant availability, optimise maintenance strategies, and strengthen insurance positioning, ultimately improving reliability and financial protection.

Tribute to Risk Engineering Expert

The session also featured a valedictory ceremony honouring Mike Corbett of Zurich Insurance Group, who is retiring after 13 years of supporting NDPHC’s insurance risk management initiatives.

Management praised Corbett’s technical expertise and contributions to strengthening the company’s risk engineering culture, noting his role in guiding multiple plant assessments that improved compliance with international insurance standards.
